Zion Mountain Range

At the Zion National Park. Another great place to shoot. I have lots of photos from this place, back when all I had was a point and shoot Nikon ES5400. I'll go back some day and spend more time to plan some shots.

Zero Mile at Alaska Highway

Here is the marker at the beginning of the Alaska Highway. This was the trip of a lifetime for me. So many of my posts here will be from this trip. If you ever want to take this adventure, I recommend the summer time, since the weather will be great up north.

Outside of the Wright-Pat Museum near Dayton Ohio. I was born at the W-P hospital. I finally got to tour the museum and grabbed a shot of this outside. I'll have more museum shots to post when I get time to process them.

On my photowalk in Scottsdale Arizona, this is one of the statues for sale in the art walk area. Nice pose, but I couldn't get a release signed. Oh Well. One of my first days with my Canon XSi/450D.

Western Town Hotel

An old town hotel, retrofitted with air conditioning! Part of the Calico Ghost Town exhibits in California. Great place for photos. Went for the sepia mode to simulate old photographs. But the air conditioning gives it away.

Weightless in Space Station

A mock up of astronauts dealing with weightlessness in the space station. Lots of cool gadgets in space. A little Aperture processing made this shot jump out a little better. Lots of stuff to draw you in.

Waters off the Coast of Maine

There's a ship way out there on the horizon. But the water on the rocks is a nice pleasing effect also. I'm not sure I'm seeing the curvature of the earth, but rather lens barrel effect, but it does make for a rather distant picture.

Towers can throw many different designs from many angles. Additionally, this one has a bit of rust. I'm sure this tower was decommissioned, but stood tall to show off it's history.

Nighttime in DC. This courtyard in the downtown area is lit up pretty brightly. Can't tell from this, but I'm thinking it's pretty busy during the day. Modern yet old style. Maybe the motherships.

Walker Lake in Nevada

Traveling up through Nevada one can get a view of this nice area. What a surprise. Oasis in the desert. There were good shots all around. There are several more from this location posted here.

Capitol of the United States

One of my best capitol shots, taken a little past the prime lighting of the day. So the colors looked a little more off white that I think it really is. But a nice shot anyway, if I do say so myself.

Union Pacific Railroad

Driving along, racing the trains up the hill. I love trains, and want to take more pictures. You have to generally get out of town to see them anymore. Many railways in town are unused nowadays.

The favorite tourist spot in Twin Falls, ID. There seems to be more than just 2 falls, the water levels were lower so they sort of divided. Still a great place to visit and shoot.

Traveling in Tacoma Washington, while parked for the night in the motorhome, this grand sunset sprang to life. Just a point and shoot, but with a little work, got a nice image.

View of the coastline at Lake Tahoe. A little Aperture processing and it looks pretty nice. I was a little rushed as we were on a tour, so some day, when I have more time, I can take more prepared shots.

One of the nice views at Lake Tahoe. Part of a photographers tour I went on. Got to go to areas we would have not known of. The colors there are beautiful. I would definitely stop again if in the area.

This is at Lake Tahoe resort area in California and Nevada. Happened to capture this girl fishing at the lake. I'm trying to get the shots. Still working on the processing too. If you get a chance, stop at Lake Tahoe and take some pictures!

At Lake Tahoe, the opportunities for photographers are plenty. I went on a photo tour, it was the best thing I did for an amateur photographer. Great shots and a learning experience.

Thomas Jefferson

One of my HDR images, took many shots at the Jefferson memorial, but it was in the middle of the day, lots of sunlight outside the building. This was the best I could do. This result is far better than any single image I shot. The tone mapping is almost REQUIRED to be able to capture the entire scene.
